My name is Richard Salmon and I am the MD of ProLawnCare, an independent company with a passion for creating and maintaining lawns of all shapes, sizes and conditions; based in Buckden Cambridgshire, we work within a catchment area of around 25 miles the key towns being, Huntingdon, St Neots, Godmanchester, Peterborough, Cambridge, Bedford, March, Ramsey and Chatteris; for a full list of towns click here. We employ 3 full-time Lawn Technicians with full ‘spraying’ licenses (PA1 and PA6) who are supported by Deborah who heads up Customer Services and Sales, Julie who runs book-keeping and Simon who helps with marketing. Duncan joined us in September 2012.
About 7 years ago we turned our back on national franchising in favour of having the flexibility to adjust treatments, products like fertilisers and herbicides and approaches according to different customer needs and varying soil types. What we lose in economies of national scale, we gain in our bespoke customer service (knowledgeable and friendly) and lawn treatments (flexible and appropriate).
The business started in 2000, and in 2013 we have around 800 active customers who swear by our seasonal treatment programme.
